1. Do I need to install anything to use this program?
There is NO program or software to install, you simply log into your account from any computer and all the tools and files will be available to you. You can makes updates to your site, manage orders and anything else from anywhere that you have access to the internet.
2. Can I have my own domain (.com) name?
YES! You can use any domain name you like with our service and it will work like any other website. Once you activate your account by paying for at least your first month of service, you will have the option to register a domain name for FREE and we'll set it all up for you. If you already own a domain name then all you need to do is update your nameserver/DNS information to point to our servers and it will work exactly the same. You will be able to setup email accounts using your domain name too.
3. How do I add my own header graphic or customize the one in my template?
There are a few options for customizing the look of your site. If you like the template you've chosen and just want to add your logo or other information to the graphic you can right click on the image and save a copy of it to your desktop. Once you have a copy, you can alter it however you like and then just upload back to your site in the "edit site" section where it asks for what header image you want to use. You can also create a header image from scratch to look however you like and upload it back to your site in the same way as mentioned before. Remember, the width of the image you upload will determine the width of your website as your website will be forced by the image to be at least that wide.
4. How do I add my own image to the left hand side of the website?
You can use one of the preformatted page templates to add images to your site or you can always just click the "add image" icon in the easy editor and add an image anywhere on the page.
5. What E-commerce features are built into the Cart and Admin tool?
This website builder comes complete with all the e-commerce functionality you need to quickly and easily sell products online. There are more robust shopping carts out there but chances are they will cost quite a bit more or take lots of programming knowledge to configure properly. We offer a simple but effective way to manage your products and inventory, post products for sale, take payment and track orders to completion. You can use PayPal, Authorize.net or Psi-Gate to process orders easily because these services are fully integrated into the software, meaning all the buttons and functionality are automatically added to your pages.
6. How do I upload images?
Images can easily be uploaded through to your image library by first accessing the library through your control panel and then choosing to browse the files on your computer. Images can be organized into folders and there are also thousands of stock photos you can use for free.
7. Do I need to know HTML, programming or possess design skills?
NO! You can setup a website with us and be selling products online in a matter of minutes. There are hundreds of pre-designed templates to choose from and all the shopping cart functionality is "point and click." Does it help if you know html or possess design skills? Sure, that never hurts and only makes these tools that much more powerful.
8. I already can do html design, can I use my skills with this program?
Even though the tools available are built to help the novice build and manage an e-commerce website it doesn't mean they aren't powerful. If you have html and design knowledge you will discover the templates are very customizeable and the layouts can be much more complex.
9. I don't want to use the e-commerce part of the software, do I have to?
Even without the e-commerce part of our software there are tons of features that make it more than worthwhile. Aside from the shopping cart there are 30 OTHER features for building functionality into your website and you get ALL the features for the same price so there's nothing more to pay.
10. How do I change my footer information?
The footer of any/all of the pages of your site is managed from one area. This makes it easy to update copyright and contact information or add a secondary menu. You can find the footer manager in the power tools section of the admin.
11. Why does my admin tool time out and force me to login again?
As with any website that requires you to log in, there are security issues with leaving that session open without any activity. Generally our software will keep you logged in but sometimes it is necessary to log you out so unwanted access to your website doesn't take place while you're away from the computer.
12. How do I add a form to my website?
Easily add a form to your website by using the custom form builder. You can find the form builder in the "add a page" section of your admin. You have the ability to require information and give users options and choices when filling out the form. The submitted information is emailed to any email address you like but a record is also kept in the admin that allows you to check on submissions any time you like.
13. How do I add a calendar or other tool to the site?
As with any of our other website builder features, you simply choose to "add a page" and pick from any of the 30 types of pages available which include a calendar page. Once the page is added you can manage those features.
14. Can I change site text colors or background colors?
YES! You can change any of the colors of your website including text colors, link colors, link hover colors, background colors, background images and more. You can easily modify the existing templates or with a little tech savvy and design skills you can make your site look as nice as any out there.
15. What is the best way to get listed in search engines?
Over time you will naturally be indexed in the search engines if others link to your website but you can expedite the process by submitting your site for inclusion. From there it gets a bit trickier to have your site show up for particular phrases and a search engine optimization professional can help you with that. Our software includes all the tools necessary to do the on-site optimization that search engines require but that is only the first step of the process.
